Application Development and Legacy Modernization

About the client

A leader in Title insurance and property tax reporting in USA

Client requirement

The scope of the project was to replace the current Mainframe application to SOA based architecture on Microsoft technology. The scope of the project included end state product development, data migration, data cleansing, documentation, training and support services. The core of the application is the services engine which was completely managed by PreludeSys team and was supporting other application.

Solution

PreludeSys provided a team of technical experts and leveraged its modernization expertise to complete the development part of the project. As part of this modernization project, the user interface and none of the front-end applications were to be modified. The middleware components and the back-end database were changed
The nature of the modernization posed many challenges. No proper documentation, the front end remained the same and newly redesigned database as the system was evolving over a period of 40 years

The customer discussed required changes and worked with the product owner and updated user stories to reflect these changes. The new user stories include the added, changed, or removed user stories and were ranked in the appropriate place within the user stories. The level of effort and duration for the project were updated to reflect the change to assess the impact

PreludeSys maintained daily scrum calls and project updates with First American Title project manager and business analysts. Project updates were communicated twice in a week using status reports, issues and risk logs. PreludeSys also conducted solution demos with First American Title project team to keep them up-to-date on project progress. PreludeSys used its project portal and standard project templates as part of its project communication
